Vaccinations
Vaccination programmes have saved an estimated 154 million lives worldwide over the past 50 years. We vaccinate according to the Swiss vaccination schedule (FOPH/EKIF) and are happy to review your vaccination record at any appointment.

Check vaccination statusFrequently asked questions about vaccinations
Which vaccinations do I need as an adult?
As a rule of thumb: diphtheria and tetanus every 20 years (every 10 years from age 65), a one-time pertussis booster at 25, the measles catch-up for everyone born after 1963, and TBE in practically all of Switzerland. From age 65, flu, pneumococcus and shingles are added. Bring your vaccination record, we review it at any consultation.
Are vaccines safe?
Yes. Vaccines go through rigorous approval procedures and remain under continuous surveillance afterwards. Side effects are usually mild and short-lived, such as redness at the injection site, tiredness or slight fever. Severe reactions are very rare. The benefits outweigh the risks many times over.
Does health insurance cover vaccinations?
The vaccinations recommended in the Swiss vaccination schedule are generally covered by basic insurance, minus deductible and co-payment. The HPV vaccination is free of charge until age 26 within the cantonal programmes. We inform you about the costs before every vaccination.
